Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and commercially driven Business Manager to support the research, origination, and development of engagements with Chinese enterprises expanding into Europe.

The role focuses on identifying outbound opportunities, shaping cross-border solutions, and supporting clients in navigating market entry, partnerships, and capital access in the UK and wider European market.

 


Key Responsibilities

1. Market Research & Client Origination

  • Conduct targeted research to identify Chinese companies with outbound ambitions to Europe across sectors (e.g. manufacturing, renewable energy, consumer, industrials).

2. Cross-Border Strategy & Programme Development

  • Research and help design delivery plans for cross-border projects, including:
  • Market entry strategy and localisation planning
  • UK regulatory and compliance landscape
  • Identification of local partners, particularly in industrial and financial ecosystems
  • Support the structuring of solutions to meet clients’ funding and business development needs.

3. Market Intelligence & Insights

  • Monitor and analyse trends in Chinese outbound investment and UK/EU policy and regulatory developments.

 

 

Candidate Requirements

Experience & Background

  • Minimum 5–10 years of relevant experience, ideally spanning Corporate finance / investment banking / consulting / asset management
  • Strong experience with Chinese enterprises, particularly those expanding internationally, is highly preferred
  • Deep understanding of China’s industrial landscape and outbound investment trends.

Education

  • Strong academic background, ideally with MBA education experience

Skills & Capabilities

  • Excellent commercial or investment judgment and strategic thinking ability
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills

Language

  • Fluent in both Mandarin Chinese and English (spoken and written)
